The next step, or even better, is to just be beautiful for your self–don’t even worry about others thoughts. This is something I have definitely had to grow into!
For example, I like to dress up for ME. I love color and artsy jewelry and fake eyelashes and fun shoes. I don’t really care if anyone else thinks I am overdressed, because I am dressed for me.
I also let my kids dress how they like. Phoebe is fancy, Annika is in slick pants and a sports t shirt, Tanner is rainbow colors and socks pulled up to his knees. I have loved watching how happy it makes them to choose their own clothes, for them to know I would not ridicule them (at least most of the time). It made them who they are from the inside on the outside. They made me braver.
And so when I dress how I like, I feel beautiful, I feel confident, I feel like I can rule the world. Well, maybe not the world, but maybe the Christian illustration realm. LOL We all make our own choices to make us feel our best.
***Disclaimer: I will go against clothing choices and trends that show any underwear or too much body parts! Modesty is a good thing. You don’t want to see mine, I don’t want to see yours. And people who are 3 feet tall and under don’t want to look at anyone’s butt crack. Just sayin’.
