This comes from Acts and Peter is defending his actions of going to the Gentiles: proclaiming Christ to them, eating with them non-Jewish foods, staying with them, baptizing in the Spirit. The Jews are like don’t do that… yada yada yada. He is going to what the Jews considered weeds and doing what God says–bring the weeds to the harvest–find their worth, give them opportunities.
And I love God’s response…”Do not call anything impure that God has made clean. ”
And Peter responds the above…”Who am I to hinder God?” And he keeps on keeping on.
Exactly Peter! I love that! Who am I, just some basic woman of millions of women in the span of time. Why would I want to, or think that I could, hinder God? He is the great creator, down to the very molecular makeup of every thing in the universe. He is all powerful–and all loving. He created everything to be clean and of worth.
Who are we to choose? Who are we to mess with His plan? We are His creations, we are to keep on keepin’ on when it comes to spreading the light and love. Let us not hinder God.
