What if we greeted one another with a holy kiss every time? Not in a germy, romantic, weird way. But in a kindness way.
An act of kindness can feel like a kiss from God. Following me? What if our words were sweet, soft kisses that landed on one another. What if we could feel the Holy Spirit in the kiss of words from every one around us. How comforting. What if just a smile was a kiss of hope? What if the light in someone’s eyes was a kiss back? What if we did greet each other with a touch?
Is this why the Europeans kiss each cheek in greeting? Is this why Asian cultures bow to each other in respect?
Our germaphobe society has lost this form of connection. I find it sad. Science even proves how important human contact is. God is telling us in scripture to make connections with each other. To reach out, let each other know we are present.
Let’s do this. Let’s set down whatever is in our hands and reach out and connect. I think I like this. How about you?
