Sometimes we get so bogged down by grammar, semantics, meanings, and translations that we forget the big picture. Sometimes we get so focused on one little difference in how we read, or what we find important, that we forget the greater purpose. Sometimes we forget the line between faith and politics, teachings and laws, inclusion and exclusion.
Right here in 2 Timothy Paul reminds us to get back into the whole Bible. To remember the whole gospel, the whole history, the whole teachings. He warns against quarreling. He encourages reflection on what we are really supposed to see in the Bible, in the gospel. He encourages staying in the light of goodness. Don’t you think God inspired Paul to write this and those who chose the books of the Bible for a reason?
