I am teaching the science center at our local Bible school this week. Several different denominations got together and we do it for the whole community–which I love! It is not about theology but getting kids closer to Jesus and faith. Making it just about them for one week. Helping them find God in everything and every moment. Leading them to live and love like Jesus.
Majesty–in this passage Peter is reminding them that he got to witness, “Jesus resplendent with light from God the Father as the voice of Majestic Glory spoke: “This is my Son, marked by my love, focus of all my delight.” We were there on the holy mountain with him. We heard the voice out of heaven with our very own ears.”
But that majesty that we get to witness can be just as powerful when we link it to Jesus.
It could be the amazing mountains, mighty waters, miles of grassy plains, the infinite stars of the galaxy.
It can be the molecules that give magnets power, the atoms that line up to give a substance strength, the mixing of different liquids that combines to create gases.
It can be pretty majestic just seeing kids open to the Holy Spirit.
